About the company
A trustless oracle network powering 250+ protocols across 60+ chains
Own the technical vision, architecture and engineering organization end to end. As CTO you are the single point of accountability for the technology function, from the multi-year direction of the oracle stack to the security of every data feed in production, and the company's strategic technical voice to partners, auditors, the DAO and the board.
The basics
- Reports to the Board of Directors
- Fully remote. The team spans Thailand to the US East Coast, so you'll need meaningful daily overlap with European working hours
- On-sites in Europe roughly once a quarter
- Full time, permanent
Technical vision and strategy
- Define and own the multi-year technical roadmap for the oracle infrastructure (data sourcing, on-chain delivery, the L2/rollup stack and multi-chain expansion), aligned to the enterprise and institutional growth strategy
- Make the build-vs-buy, protocol-design and platform-bet decisions, with final authority on architecture across the stack
- Translate commercial strategy into technical strategy, and decline technical bets that don't serve it
Scaling, security and quality
- Own the plan to scale the platform for 10x to 100x load: audit the current stack, define the target architecture and sequence the hardening work
- Hold ultimate accountability for the security and data integrity of every feed: audit cadence, threat model, key-management standards and remediation of critical risks
- Hold ultimate accountability for engineering quality: standards, incident reviews and continuous improvement of production quality
- Commission and act on a full production risk audit within your first 90 days
Engineering organization
- Own the engineering budget, headcount planning, hiring, leveling and compensation framework, and org design
- Grow the engineering team from around 6 people today (including leadership) to what the roadmap needs, and personally lead senior technical hiring
- Set the delivery process, engineering standards and operating rhythm across the technical team
- Manage the engineering team directly, including the Head of Technical Operations
External representation
- Be the company's strategic technical voice with technical partners, security auditors, institutional prospects at decision level, and in technical governance within the DAO
- Represent technology and technical risk to the board
Not part of this role
- Product roadmap prioritization, which sits with the Product team (you partner on feasibility and sequencing)
- Day-to-day DevOps, production operations, security incident handling, quality management and customer integration or technical sales delivery, which sit with the Head of Technical Operations (you keep overall accountability for security and quality standards)
- Board governance matters reserved to the board itself
What you'll bring
- 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years as CTO, VP Engineering or Head of Platform with real ownership of technical direction, not only delivery
- A proven Web3 scale-up track record: you've grown a protocol or infrastructure company through a significant scaling phase
- Deep oracle or data-infrastructure expertise (Chainlink, Pyth, UMA, Band or equivalent domain depth)
- Hands-on credibility in high-availability distributed systems (Kubernetes, cloud-native, multi-chain delivery). At the current team size this is a player-coach role, so you'll go deep in the code on the hardest problems
- A security-first engineering mindset: threat modelling, smart-contract risk and key management
- A track record of building engineering teams from 0 to 1 and from 1 to N, and of managing senior engineers
What will make you stand out
- Experience at both the protocol and the application layer, including DeFi primitives and on-chain data-delivery mechanics
- Enterprise or institutional blockchain deployment experience
- Open-source standing in the Web3 ecosystem
- Having joined a founder-led company as an external executive before
