Senior Product Engineer, Belgium
A global data & AI learning platform used by 17M+ learners and 6,000+ companies is hiring a senior product engineer. This is an AI-native team, not an AI-curious one, Claude Code and Codex are core to how people work day to day, on services that are increasingly LLM-powered.
This is a senior individual contributor role. No team management, but mentorship and technical leadership are expected.
What you'll do
- Own projects end-to-end: idea, build, release, measurement, iteration, with autonomy
- Shape technical direction, from architecture through implementation
- Keep the services you ship scalable, reliable and observable
- Push for high standards in testing, observability, code quality and engineering practice generally
- Use data, metrics and user feedback to decide what gets built next
- Grow the engineers around you through mentorship, technical leadership and code review
What you'll bring
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience across the stack
- Real full-stack experience, frontend and backend work you've actually done, not just listed
- Time at a startup, early-stage or small company where you shipped fast
- AI-native working habits: agentic coding tools like Claude Code or Codex as your primary daily way of working, 6+ months hands-on, writing your own skills, wiring up MCP servers, with something to show for it
- Expert knowledge of modern API design and microservices, with services you've designed and owned in production
- A track record of taking large, ambiguous problems end-to-end independently, both greenfield builds and work on complex existing systems
- A strong product mindset, using data and user feedback to make pragmatic calls on what to build
- Based in Belgium with the right to work there
TypeScript, Node.js, React and LLM/AI API experience used in real projects would also count in your favour, as would mentoring experience, observability practice, or a public track record of AI artifacts, open source, or writing.
